Inlay Filler

Inlay fillings are a type of dental treatment used to repair decayed or damaged parts of the teeth. They provide an aesthetic appearance and have a strong bond with the tooth. They fit precisely into the decayed or damaged area, restoring the function and structure of the tooth. They are particularly preferred for posterior teeth.

Inlay fillings are made using either porcelain or composite resin.

Inlay fillings provide a more natural appearance that is aesthetically closer to natural teeth. They also offer better protection to the tooth. Regular fillings, on the other hand, fill the decayed or damaged area without completely covering the outer surface of the tooth.

The procedure requires an examination and preliminary preparation. The decayed or damaged area is cleaned, and an impression of the prepared tooth is taken and sent to the laboratory. A temporary filling may be applied while the permanent filling is being prepared in the lab. Once ready, the inlay filling is placed in the tooth. After final adjustments, the procedure is completed.

With our expert dentists and modern equipment at Clinic EGO, inlay fillings can be a long-lasting treatment option. Regular check-ups and following dental hygiene instructions can extend their lifespan even further.

The procedure is generally not painful as local anesthesia is administered.

There is typically no age limit for inlay fillings. They can be applied to both children and adults, depending on the condition of the teeth and overall health.

Inlay fillings are typically planned treatments. In emergency situations, particularly for urgent pain or decay, a composite filling (regular filling), which is a quicker procedure, may be preferred.

Thanks to our expert team, the likelihood of any harm to your teeth is very low. The filling material is placed and bonded to the tooth without causing damage to its natural structure.

No special care is necessary after the treatment. Following your dentist’s instructions and maintaining good oral hygiene will suffice.

Since durable materials are used, inlay fillings generally do not affect eating or drinking habits. They restore the tooth’s chewing function. However, they may be affected by substances that cause staining, such as tea, coffee, wine, or smoking. To ensure their longevity, it’s important to maintain good dental hygiene and care.
